Scout PLC

The DiaLog Scout PLC is a flexible and powerful solution for monitoring wells, storage tanks, distribution lines and booster pumps for small to mid-sized water plants that use PLCs for local control.

The Scout PLC provides a local user interface to view/change conditions monitored and controlled by the PLC. The Scout can automatically compute and log the pump run-times and cycles. This information can be viewed locally or retrieved remotely via phone or even directly to the Internet.

For those plants that are always unmanned, the Scout provides 24/7 monitoring of all operational conditions and intrusion and maintenance personnel visits.

Typical conditions that are monitored and provide alarm notification:

  • Well pump failures
  • Booster pump failures
  • Low tank level from level switch or pressure transmitter
  • Tank overflow from level switch or pressure transmitter
  • Low distribution pressure from pressure transmitter
  • Loss of power
    • in a 2-phase powered system the Elite automatically detects this
    • in a 3-phase powered system through a phase fault monitor
  • CL gas leak from a CL detector in the pump house
  • Residual CL level from CL analyzer
  • Personnel access to station - when on-site and total time on-site
